How to Use a Toaster Oven

Whether you call it your toaster oven or your oven toaster, this handy and mostly underestimated kitchen appliance quietly sits on your kitchen counter till you remember to make toast. Your toaster oven could make more than toast!

If you have a standard oven toaster with a single control knob, you will notice that the knob is not just a control to turn the oven on or off but it is also a timer.

And time is essential in cooking in an oven toaster and it is the reason why you can do so many things with this appliance that you have never possibly dreamed of. So how to use a toaster oven? Here are some oven toaster hacks that you may have never thought of:

Bake cookies with your toaster oven

You don’t need to use a large conventional type oven just to bake a small batch of cookies; you may use your toaster oven which can cook up to 12 medium-sized cookies per batch.

Simply mix all the cookie ingredients together and then as you do this, heat your oven up to the desired temperature. Spray your oven toaster tray with oil or grease it up and then place drop-full of cookie dough on the tray. Bake till your cookies are done.

Place your cookies in a tray to cool them before you wrap or eat them up.

With your oven toaster, you can keep an eagle’s eye on your brownies so these would come out perfect. You may use conventional brownie mix from the supermarket or you may use standard ingredients to make brownie mix.

Heat your toaster oven to the desired temperature. Use a small rectangular tray that will fit in your oven toaster or a suitable glass baking tray.

Pour the brownie mix in and then place in the oven to bake. Stick a toothpick in the middle so you can check if the insides are cooking well. When your brownies are done, let it cool on the countertop and then remove from the tray when it is cool.
